Privacy policy

Aniimo Tools is a fan-made site run by one person. Reading it requires no account. We never sell your data. We are the data controller; for anything concerning your data, write to support@holst.network.

Browsing

We use Google Analytics for aggregate statistics (which pages are read, roughly from which country). It sets one measurement cookie, _ga, so that one reader opening three pages counts as one visitor instead of three. In the EU and UK it is off until you allow "audience measurement" in the consent box described below; you can refuse and keep reading, everything works the same. Browsers sending a Do Not Track signal are never measured.

Your preferences (theme, language, collection, squad, map progress) stay in your own browser and are never sent to us. Like any website, ours sees the IP address your request comes from; Cloudflare uses it to serve the site and block abuse, and we do not profile you with it.

Advertising

The site is free and shows ads, served by NitroPay and its advertising partners. Ads appear in marked places on articles, guides, the home page and the map; never on this page, the terms, the 404 page or your account page. Advertising partners may set cookies and use identifiers to measure ads and, only with your consent, to personalise them. Their list, purposes and legal bases are shown in the consent box.

In the EU and UK, a consent box (the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, operated by NitroPay) asks you once, before any ad is requested. Refusing keeps the site fully usable; ads are then non-personalised. You can change your choice at any time through the Update consent preferences link at the bottom of every page. Visitors from California and other US states with an opt-out right get a Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the same place, which we honour through the same system. When an ad blocker or an empty auction leaves a place blank, we show our own support note instead; it collects nothing.

Supporters see no ads at all. A signed-in account that holds an active Patreon membership (see Accounts below) carries a small first-party cookie, aniimotools_adfree, that tells the site not to request any ad: no advertising partner is contacted and no consent box appears. The cookie holds no identifier, only that flag, and disappears when the membership ends or you sign out.

Accounts

Signing in is optional and the whole site works without it. Google or Discord tells us only your account identifier, name and email address (Google scopes openid, email, profile; Discord identify and email). We never see your password, cannot read your mailbox, files or contacts, and cannot act on your account.

With an account we store your account record, the progress you sync (collection, squad, map), your sessions, and what you post, like or report. What you post is public: notes and screenshots attached to map points are visible to every visitor, next to your name and avatar. Our terms of use say what may be posted.

Patreon (Supporter). If you link your Patreon account from your account page, Patreon tells us only your Patreon user id and whether that account holds an active membership to our campaign (scopes identity and identity.memberships): no email address, no payment details, nothing about other creators you support. We keep that id, the membership status, the date we last checked it and an encrypted token that lets us re-check it in the background, so the ad-free benefit follows your membership without you doing anything. Unlinking on your account page, or deleting your account, removes all of it, and you can withdraw our access at any time from your Patreon settings.

Your rights

From your account page you can export your data and permanently delete your account, which erases your record, your synced progress, your sessions, your posts and their images. You also have the right to access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability: write to support@holst.network, which works even if you are locked out of your account. In the EU or UK you may complain to your national data protection authority. You can revoke our access at any time from your Google or Discord settings.

Who else sees it

Cloudflare (hosting, database, images), Google and Discord (the sign-in you choose), Patreon (only if you link a membership), Google Analytics, NitroPay and the advertising partners listed in the consent box. If you support the site through Ko-fi or PayPal, they handle the payment and all we receive is the email address you supported with, never your card details. Nobody else receives your data. These providers are based in, or transfer to, the United States under the safeguards in their own terms.
