Aniimo glossary
Aniimo drops a lot of vocabulary on you in the first hour and explains very little of it. This is the decoder: 50 terms across 8 groups, in plain words, each linked to the page that explains it in full. Where a term has no official definition, we say so rather than fill the gap with a guess.
13 September 2026The words for the game itself
6 termsThe first words the game uses without ever explaining them.
- Aniimo
-
Both the game and the creatures in it: you catch them, raise them and fight alongside them.
Full detail - Pathfinder
-
You. It is the game’s own word for the player, used in every official announcement.
- Idyll
-
The continent you explore, divided into named regions.
Full detail - Aniilog also written dex
-
The in-game index of every Aniimo, the equivalent of a dex.
Full detail - Aniipod
-
The capture device you throw at a wild Aniimo.
Catching is a skill check, not a random pull.
Full detail - Homeland

Your personal base and farm, where you grow crops, gather and build.

The six stats, and what the abbreviations mean
7 termsEvery Aniimo runs on the same six. This is the part of the info panel that trips up most new players.
- HP also written Health Points
-
How much damage an Aniimo can take before it goes down.
Full detail - BREAK
-
How hard an Aniimo Breaks enemies, and how well it resists being Broken itself.
Full detail - ATK also written Attack
-
An Aniimo’s damage output.
The info panel shows a single ATK stat. Some personality traits do name physical and magical attack separately (P.ATK and M.ATK), so both spellings appear in the game.
Full detail - P.DEF also written Physical Defence
-
How well an Aniimo resists physical attacks.
Full detail - M.DEF also written Magical Defence
-
How well an Aniimo resists magical attacks.
Full detail - REGEN also written Regeneration
-
How fast an Aniimo recovers.
Full detail - Total Attributes
-
The six stats added together, shown as a single summary number.
It is a summary, not a seventh stat: a high total does not automatically mean a better Aniimo for your team.
Full detail
The five roles
5 termsThe Aniilog sorts every Aniimo into one of five roles, and they are filters you can search by. BREAK and REGEN are both a stat and a role: the stat is a number on one creature, the role is the job it does in your team.
- DPS
-
The role of an Aniimo built to be your damage core.
Full detail - BREAK (role)
-
The role of an Aniimo built to crack enemy poise and open damage windows.
Full detail - HEAL
-
The role of an Aniimo built to keep the team alive through long fights.
Full detail - SUPPORT
-
The role of an Aniimo built around buffs and debuffs.
Full detail - REGEN (role)
-
The role of an Aniimo built to grind out sustain over time.

Elements and matchups
6 termsNine elements, three outcomes, no immunities.
- Element
-
One of the nine damage types an Aniimo and its skills belong to.
Full detail - Lightning also written Electric
-
The electric element, which community posts often call Electric: same element, two labels.
Full detail - Grass also written Plant
-
The plant element, sometimes written Plant: same element, two labels.
Full detail - Super effective
-
A matchup where the attacking element beats the defending one, the highest of the three damage outcomes.
Full detail - Resisted
-
A matchup where the defending element blunts the attack, the lowest of the three damage outcomes.
There are no immunities in Aniimo: nothing zeroes out damage.
Full detail - Dual element Official · beta build
-
Some Aniimo carry two elements at once rather than one.
How two elements combine in damage is not documented anywhere, so we list each element’s matchups separately instead of multiplying them.

Battle language
9 termsWhat the game means by the words it throws at you mid-fight.
- Command Mode
-
The combat mode where you stay yourself and direct your Aniimo, trainer-style.
Full detail - Twine Mode also written Twining
-
The combat mode where you become your Aniimo and fight with its own kit.
It is also how you traverse the world.
Full detail - Break
-
Break damage staggers an enemy and opens a damage window, and it raises your capture chance on a wild Aniimo.
Break first, throw second: it is the single most useful catching habit.
Full detail - Skills, traits and Homeland skill
-
Each Aniimo carries a few active skills, one or two passive traits, and a separate skill used back at the Homeland.
The counts vary per creature, so ignore any guide claiming every Aniimo has the same number.
Full detail - Alpha
-
A powered-up boss version of an Aniimo, roaming the open world.
Full detail - Omega
-
The highest world-boss tier: three bosses that unlock through a Journey quest rather than a timer.

Full detail - Prismana form

The rarest form of an Aniimo, tied to the rainbow Prismana Flow weather state and the Nurture flowers.
Full detail - Regional form

On any one stat, Innate plus Acquired Potential can never exceed 20.
Full detail - Personality also written Traits, MBTI
-
An Aniimo’s personality, built on the four MBTI axes: each of the eight letters is a trait that buffs one stat, and named personalities add effects of their own.
Each letter buffs its stat by +3, +6 or +10% in the current build. Personality can be changed by feeding the Aniimo an item, and it also feeds Homeland bonuses we have not been able to document yet.

Full detail - Evolution

A permanent upgrade of a creature’s line, which is not the same thing as a form.
Full detail - Hatchinator

Where you hatch the eggs you find, with egg labels telling you what you are likely to get.
Full detail
Materials and vendors
4 termsThe names behind the crafting screen.
- Branch
-
The sacred tree of Idyll, one on each map. Infuse it with Lumin Amber and it grows, granting its region a new blessing every 10 Amber, 15 in all.
It is also a fast-travel point, and activating it reveals the Blooms around it on your map.
Full detail - Lumin Amber
-
Amber infused with Lumin Power, found all over the open world: the Branch absorbs its energy to grow.
Each map has its own Lumin Amber, which only feeds that map’s Branch. It is not a Homeland resource.
Full detail - Dewdrop Crystal
-
The universal crafting crystal, processed via Primegy into family-specific crystals.
- Outpost Vendor Joff
-
The vendor who trades those crafting materials.
If you have read about "Glints" or a vendor called "Jeff", those are garbled versions of the real terms.
Words we won't define, because nobody can
Community · unverifiedThese circulate in community guides with confident numbers attached. No official source publishes them, so a definition here would only be a guess dressed up as a fact.
- The "+5%" personality table
The personality system is real (see Personality above), but its traits buff a stat by +3, +6 or +10%, never by a flat +5%.
- IV-style values: Growth value, 30-upgrade cap, Family value
Fan numbers layered on top of the real Potential system, which none of them describes. The one official figure is the per-stat cap: Innate plus Acquired Potential never exceeds 20.
- A hard level cap
The highest level any official source points at is the Lv 60 Resonance tier. Nothing announces a ceiling beyond it.
- Dual-element damage stacking
Two elements are shown on some Aniimo, but how they combine in damage is not documented, so we do not multiply them.
